INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AND INNOVATION COMPETITION 2023
Faculty of Hospitality, Tourism and Wellness
InaRIC is an innovation competition (online) in collaboration between FHPK and ICD, UMK which provides a platform for participants to upload videos about innovative products based on the category they participate in. The judges will be appointed to evaluate the products based on criteria that will be determined by the jury. The winner will be announced during closing ceremony of ICE 2023.
GENERAL INFORMATION

The closing date for submission of video and extended abstract is on 30th September 2023 and any application after the deadline WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED*
-
Each institution can participate in MORE THAN ONE category without any MAXIMUM LIMIT.

If any group wish to WITHDRAW from the competition, the group must INFORM the organizer immediately. However, entrance fee cannot be refunded.

Organising committee reserves the right to accept or refuse an entry without explanation.

The institution is REQUIRED to fill out the electronic registration form (Google Form) in the link provided.
-
Acceptance letter shall be emailed to participants to confirm their registration.
-
Any changes in the name or number of participants must be notified to the organising committee not later than registration deadline.
-
Any changes to the title and the category of the project CANNOT BE made after the closing date.

GENERAL STANDARD

Innovations must be original and never be commercial. Exhibited or forwarded to the manufacturing sector.

Adaptation of existing ideas improvement may be applicable as long as the aspect of the main factor of improvement is the result of creativity.

Inventions/innovations can be implemented in the form of commercial products, prototypes, models, drawings, photos and plain text.

Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may cause the organiser to withdraw the awards received.

The decisions of the judge panels are FINAL. Participants must contend on the result panel of organiser committee. The organiser reserves the right to amend/add/deduct any regulations or conditions for the smooth running and continuity of this competition.

REQUIREMENTS
Each group is required to submit the following:

Extended Abstract (in English Language ONLY)

Pitching Video (in Malay OR English Language)

EXTENDED ABSTRACT FORMAT

The extended abstract should be in English language ONLY.
-
It should be between 1 – 2 pages ONLY
-
The abstract must be renamed as <NAME><SPACE><PROJECT TITLE>
-
For the format, please use the template provided.

You shall upload the extended abstract via the registration form.

PITCHING VIDEO FORMAT

The video MUST NOT exceed 5 minutes.
-
The video must be uploaded in YouTube. You shall upload the YouTube link in the registration form.

FEES
-
Participation fee must be paid before the registration day of the competition. The registration fee in cash/postal order/cheque/bank draft must be paid in the name of <UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA KELANTAN>
-
The institution shall submit the proof of payment to the organising committee before the day of the event and attach the proof of payment, such as a receipt/bank statement.
-
The group that fails to submit the proof of payment before the competition, the result likely would be hold for release.
-
Organiser WON’T RETURN the money shall the group want to forfeit from the competition.

The payment should be made in Ringgit Malaysia (MYR) / US Dollar (USD)* only.

All payments made need to be accompanied by proof of payment (e.g. bank-in slip/copy of payment receipt) and submit in Poster & Video Submission Form.
